Robotized laser welding provider AWL-Techniek (Harderwijk, Nettherlands) reached a record-high 100,000,000 euros in revenue in 2016 and, with branches in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and China, has ambitions to go further. At the end of 2016, the company established a new business in Mexico and for 2017, the plan is to build a third production hall at the Czech facility to keep up with its growth expansion. In addition, the company is looking at opportunities to develop its own facility in America.

Continuous R&D is helping the company serve the demanding automotive industry, with modularization being one of the keys as customers can define their own needs based on standard building blocks that have already proven their quality and reliability. R&D also is focusing on future developments such as virtual reality, augmented reality, applications for collaborative robots (cobots), vision, and extensive automation.

The company has made improvements on its laser welding applications, applying this knowledge and expertise in a variety of markets by broadening its scope to a variety of joining technologies to ensure global productivity for its customers.
