Handheld laser welding system

The AL-ARM handheld laser welding system makes repairs on vehicle body-in-white defects such as porosity, bleed-through, and offset seams.

The AL-ARM handheld laser welding system from ALPHA LASER (Puchheim, Germany) makes repairs on vehicle body-in-white defects such as porosity, bleed-through, and offset seams. In press-tool applications, welding can be performed directly inside the press with minimal setup time. The laser system comprises a handset with automated wire feeding for wire thicknesses up to 0.6 mm and a 450 W fiber laser (1070 nm) with both pulsed and continuous-wave operating modes, capable of delivering a welding spot size between 0.3 and 4.0 mm at a focal distance of 120 mm. The lightweight handset allows the welding seam width to be varied and adjusted during the welding process as required.
