EWI opens advanced manufacturing facility in Colorado

Advanced manufacturing technologies developer EWI has officially opened its third applied R&D laboratory in Colorado.

Advanced manufacturing technologies developer EWI (Columbus, OH) has officially opened its third applied R&D laboratory, EWI Colorado (Loveland, CO). This facility joins the company's Columbus headquarters and its Buffalo, NY facility as its newest manufacturing center of excellence.

At a November 2016 grand opening, the company demonstrated its equipment used for advanced nondestructive evaluation that features array eddy current, infrared thermographic imaging, and phased-array ultrasound technologies. Each display highlighted the machines' applications and their relevance to the aerospace, medical device, automotive, energy, and electronics industries, among others.

The company's technical capabilities include advanced automation, x-ray computed tomography, microjoining (a laser welding method), and metal additive manufacturing. At the grand opening, technical experts from across the company's network were on hand to discuss how the company can help manufacturers optimize their processes to innovate and succeed in today's highly competitive global marketplace.
