Advances in laser micromachining seminar

Manchester, N.H. – J. P. Sercel Associates Inc. (JPSA) will host a technology seminar highlighting laser processing techniques applicable to the solar, LED, semiconductor, microelectronic manufacturing, and biomedical industries at the Courtyard Marriott, Raleigh Durham Airport, on March 1, 2011.

Manchester, New Hampshire – J. P. Sercel Associates Inc. (JPSA), will host a technology seminar highlighting laser processing techniques applicable to the solar, LED, semiconductor, microelectronic manufacturing, and biomedical industries at the Courtyard Marriott, Raleigh Durham Airport, on March 1, 2011. This will be the first in the 2011 series of seminars offered by JPSA .

"The JPSA Applications Laboratory is continually developing new laser processing techniques in response to requests from customers from a broad range of industries," said JPSA president Charlie Cuneo. "The JPSA Technical Seminar series is our opportunity to share details of these novel and enabling micromachining processes with researchers, engineers and managers."

The guest speaker at the seminar will be Dr. Robert Karlicek Jr., who will present recent work on LED lighting. Dr. Karlicek is currently the Director of the Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an NSF- and industry-funded program exploring advanced applications for next generation lighting.

JPSA products and services include UV excimer, DPSS, and ultra-fast laser micromachining systems, UV and VUV laser beam delivery systems, laser materials processing development, optical damage testing, and excimer laser refurbishment services. JPSA operates a high-performance laser job shop as well as a systems engineering and manufacturing business.
