Ametek acquires Laserage Technology Corporation

Electronic instruments and electro-mechanical devices maker Ametek has completed the acquisition of Laserage Technology Corporation.

Electronic instruments and electro-mechanical devices maker Ametek (NYSE: AME; Berwyn, PA), with annual sales of approximately $4.0 billion, has completed the acquisition of Laserage Technology Corporation (Waukegan, IL), which provides laser fabrication services for the medical device market. Laserage, which also has a manufacturing facility in Milpitas, CA, has estimated annual sales of $22 million.

Ametek chief executive officer David A. Zapico explains that Laserage's fabrication and manufacturing capabilities fit well with Ametek's engineered medical components business, providing strong market and technology synergies.

Laserage's expertise includes laser fabrication of flat stock and tube for medical devices and specialty catheters.

Laserage will be part of Ametek's Electromechanical Group (EMG)—a differentiated supplier of electrical interconnects, precision motion control solutions, medical components, specialty metals, thermal management systems, and floor care and specialty motors.
