Mark verification
IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) by Virtek Laser Systems (Ontario, Canada; verifies positioning and orientation of a part prior to marking and is capable of accepting or rejecting marking of the part. Part verification, mark content, and laser control are accomplished through integrated software. The company says the one-time job setup can be transferred to other FOBA lasers to offer machine-to-machine consistency. Reportedly, typical changeover time also can be reduced by 40 percent or better when compared to laser systems without IMP.
