The governor of Ohio recently presented that state's Thomas Edison Emerging Technology Award to Mound Laser & Photonics Center (MLPC) of this city. The award honors MLPC for the valuable progress it is making in the advancement of laser microfabrication technology.

Miamisburg, OH—The governor of Ohio recently presented that state's Thomas Edison Emerging Technology Award to Mound Laser & Photonics Center (MLPC) of this city. The award honors MLPC for the valuable progress it is making in the advancement of laser microfabrication technology.

Dr. Larry Dosser, MLPC president and CEO, says, "This award recognizes the innovation and dedication that MLPC personnel have put forth to bring laser-based microfabrication technology to both the commercial and defense marketplaces. We view this as the beginning of creating a world-class laser microfabrication center in Dayton, Ohio. Our long-term relationships with the Air Force Research Laboratory, area universities, and our numerous industrial partners will continue to bring high-tech manufacturing jobs to Dayton."
