Precision CO2 laser cavity optics that provide optimum reflectivity to help improve the cutting performance of high-power CO2 lasers are available from Laser Research Optics (Providence, RI).
These CO2 laser cavity optics include ZnSe output couplers on the front that provide 60-65% reflectivity ±0.1% to reflect a percentage of the laser beam back into the resonator for continuous amplification. Rear end reflectors are made from Ge with 99-99.5% reflectivity ±0.20% on the inside to reflect nearly all of the laser energy back through the gas mixture.
Designed to optimize the transmission of energy through the beam delivery system to the workpiece, these optics are available in sizes from 0.5 in. to 2 in. dia. and can be modified and coated to meet specific laser cavity requirements for most popular high-power lasers.
