SCANLAB wins Future Employer Award for 2020

Aug. 20, 2020
The IKOM Award is Germany’s only annual prize created by and for students to improve the choice of employers and highlighting entrepreneurial responsibility.

Munich Technical University (TU München) selected SCANLAB GmbH (Puchheim, Germany) for its Future Employer Award 2020. The IKOM Award is Germany’s only annual prize created by and for students to improve the choice of employers and highlighting entrepreneurial responsibility; the jury focuses on continuity and commitment to Germany as a business location, as well as good career and advancement opportunities for recent graduates. The award was undoubtedly influenced by the photonics industry’s innovative strength.

SCANLAB’s modern, bright, open-designed company building unites every department, from R&D and production to sales, providing ergonomic workspaces, a large canteen with sun terrace, and a multipurpose sports court. The company’s management practices the concept of ‘open doors’ and encourages all employees to take over an active role. SCANLAB’s laser scan systems are housed inside larger equipment and machines, thus making them virtually ‘invisible,’ yet these components transform laser beams into tools. Scanners position and concentrate laser beams so precisely that they are used in operations such as cutting, welding, and marking.

Accepting the IKOM Award 2020, SCANLAB HR Manager Kathrin Witting states that “Part of our daily routine is to keep an eye on trends and always make sure we’re well positioned for the future. We maintain a trustful and open atmosphere and provide tailored support for each employee’s further development. We’re proud that the IKOM award has now brought public attention to our efforts.”

With over 35,000 systems produced annually, SCANLAB GmbH is an independent OEM manufacturer of scan solutions for deflecting and positioning laser beams in three dimensions. Its exceptionally fast and precise high-performance galvanometer scanners, scan heads, and scan systems find application in industrial materials processing and the electronics, food,  and beverage industries, as well as biotech and medical technology.
