Bristol Instruments Now Offers a Fiber-Coupled Laser Wavelength Meter for Infrared Applications

July 28, 2021

VICTOR, NEW YORK July 28, 2021 – Bristol Instruments is pleased to announce an addition to its 671 Laser Wavelength Meter Series. The new 671 NIR2 system supports the characterization of infrared lasers with the benefit of fiber-optic input.

The 671 NIR2 Laser Wavelength Meter is ideal for scientists and engineers who need to know the exact wavelength of their CW lasers that operate from 1.0 to 2.6 μm. It employs a proven Michelson interferometer-based design to measure laser wavelength to an accuracy as high as ± 0.0002 nm. This new system includes the convenience of a pre-aligned fiber-optic input to ensure optimum alignment of the laser under test resulting in uncompromised accuracy. What’s more, with fiber optic input, the system can be placed in an out of the way location, thereby conserving valuable optical bench space.

“We are committed to continually improving our products to address the needs of our customers,” said Nicolas George, Scientific Product Line Manager at Bristol Instruments. “With the enhanced operational features of the 671 NIR2 Laser Wavelength Meter, it is now even easier for our customers to achieve the utmost confidence in their experimental results.”

About Bristol Instruments

Since its founding in 2005, Bristol Instruments has solely focused on designing, manufacturing, and marketing precision instruments using its expertise in optical interferometry. Bristol’s flagship products accurately characterize the wavelength and spectral properties of lasers and are used by scientists and engineers at universities and government and industrial laboratories. They are also used for the development and production testing of laser transmitters used in optical fiber communications. In addition, Bristol Instruments provides interferometer-based products to reliably measure critical physical dimensions of materials such as specialty plastic films, medical tubing, and ophthalmic products.
