A line of sapphire cover glass windows for 4 kW and larger industrial fiber laser cutting systems prevents contamination of the fiber lens from debris.

A line of sapphire cover glass windows for 4 kW and larger industrial fiber laser cutting systems prevents contamination of the fiber lens from debris. The windows feature Moh 9 hardness and a 10-5 scratch-dig finish, and can withstand steel splatter, flash, and debris. Providing 1/4 wave transmitted wave-front, the highly polished sapphire windows have use as debris shields on 1064 nm industrial cutting lasers from 4 kW and above.
