Stephan Bundschu takes on added responsibilities as VP of engineering and manufacturing, while Christof Lehner becomes GM of Trumpf's Laser Technology Center in Michigan.
Farmington, CT -- Trumpf Inc. has named Stephan Bundschu as VP of engineering and manufacturing, responsible for overseeing the company's machine assembly, components, sheet metal, tooling, and purchasing departments; he will continue to manage the engineering department. Since transferring to Trumpf in CT in 2002 a year after he joined the company, Bundschu has established an engineering product development center and overseen introduction of several new products for sales worldwide.
Trumpf also has appointed Christof Lehner as GM of its Laser Technology Center in Plymouth, MI, responsible for laser division sales, service, and support in North America. Lehner joined Trumpf Laser GmbH in Germany in 2002 after earning a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Technische Universität München, serving as product manager for pulsed lasers. In 2003 he was promoted to head of sales for low-power lasers and later to head of sales for solid-state lasers. After transferring to Trump Group headquarters in Ditzingen, Germany, he most recently served as director of international sales/Western Europe, providing technical sales support and strategic guidance of the laser divisions in Western Europe.
"It is our goal to continue to strengthen our position in the North American laser market, supplying a full range of OEM laser sources and optics as well as complete laser system solutions," said Lehner in a statement. "With ongoing plans to significantly increase staff and application lab equipment and capabilities, and with the continual development of a vast array of cutting edge laser products and systems from TRUMPF manufacturing centers, the Laser Technology Center is poised to achieve our goal."
