Partnership to deliver hybrid additive manufacturing machines in Taiwan

Tongtai will integrate Optomec's LENS print engine to add 3D metal printing capability to its hybrid additive manufacturing machine.

Additive manufacturing systems maker Optomec (Albuquerque, NM) has entered into an agreement with machine tool supplier Tongtai Machine & Tool Company (Kaohsiung, Taiwan), enabling Tongtai to integrate the Optomec LENS print engine and add 3D metal printing capability to its AMH-350 Additive Manufacturing-Hybrid (AMH) vertical milling machine.

The Optomec LENS family of 3D metal printers are used for repairing, reworking, and manufacturing high-performance metal components in materials such as titanium, stainless steel, carbides, and nickel-based super alloys. The LENS print engine delivers the company's 3D metal printing technology in a modular format for rapid integration with metal working platforms such as CNC mills, lathes, robots, custom gantries, or laser cutting and welding systems.
