Virtek awarded $1.9 million contract in China
Virtek Vision International, a developer of precision laser-based technologies, announced that it All the systems are expected to be installed during Virtek's third quarter, which ends October 31, 2006.
The FOBA DP50 is a 50W Nd:YAG diode-pumped laser system designed for integration into manufacturing lines or custom machinery. This compact, high-efficiency laser for medium-power applications marks almost all materials. It is typically used in automotive, electronics, and tool and die industries to mark plastics and electronic components, for lacquer removal (day/night marking), and is suitable for engraving. The DP50 systems will be manufactured in the company's FOBA laser marking and engraving facilities in Luedenscheid, Germany.

"We believe a significant portion of long-term growth for the company will come from laser marking and engraving opportunities in Asia."
Asia Pacific sales represented eight percent of revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2007 (five percent in Q1 2006 and two percent in Q1 2005.
