Cutting a path to improved production

December 16--A manufacturer in the compressed gas industry, American Cap Company LLC adds laser cutting to its manufacturing services for component part manufacturing.

A new Mitsubishi ML3015LVP laser cutting system has been installed into production at the Wheatland, PA, facility. The unit incorporates automatic load and unload capabilities for high-volume, high-production requirements with quick turn-around demands. The 4000-watt flying optics system enables American Cap to produce components up to 1-inch thick mild steel, 1/2-inch thick stainless steel, and 3/8-inch thick aluminum. In addition, American Cap is planning on adding a second Mitsubishi system to meet market demands for the fourth quarter.

Logistically the company can help reduce the cost to manufacture components requiring multiple operations by utilizing its other in-house capabilites of deep draw, precision machining, powder coating, and stamping.
