Continuous success was the theme at Mazak Optonics's annual sales appreciation banquet honoring its top-selling distributor companies and their top-selling individual salesmen for 2006. Many of those honored are the leading performers year after year.

The top three distributors for 2006 (in order) were MacTech of Schaumburg, IL; Gladwin Machinery of Minneapolis, MN; and Modern Machinery of Indianapolis, IN. The top individual salesman in 2006 was Michael Benson of Gladwin Machinery. Mark Clayton of Modern Machinery Company is the second-place salesman and Tom Britton of MacTech was the number-three seller of Mazak lasers in 2006.

In other news, the company announced it has hired industrial service veteran Carl Schuett as general manager of Mazak's service and parts department. Previously he had spent more than a year running General Electric's asset intelligence telematics service operation.
