Additive manufacturer Changing Technologies to expand with laser cutting, engraving services

Changing Technologies (Houston, TX) plans to further expand its additive manufacturing services with laser cutting and engraving.

Piquing the company's interest is a desktop laser cutter, which will enable the company to create a viable new revenue stream. “We’ve long wanted to increase our production capabilities and adding a laser cutter will let us offer customers greater options and flexibility,” says CEO Marco Valenzuela. “We would not only fulfill a client’s 3D printing needs in a host of different materials, but also be able to add custom laser cutting and engraving to prototypes projects as well. Investing in a desktop laser cutter is a smart move towards developing a true full-service, one-stop shop for clients—expanding our capabilities, client base, and revenues simultaneously.”

Desktop laser cutters can cut and engrave plastics, metal, leather, fabric, wood, and paper. A laser cutter will help the company better market itself for projects in customized jewelry and accessories, clothing, automotive, toys, and historical restoration arenas, all areas where the company has had recent success.
