Akron, NY - LVD Strippit has debuted its Lynx FL fiber laser cutting system, which is powered by a 2kW fiber laser source. The system provides thin-sheet processing of traditional sheet metal materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, with the ability to also process metals such as copper and brass. Increased beam absorption of the 1μm wavelength laser beam by the material is said to provide processing speeds up to three times faster than CO2 laser sources in thin sheet metal. An integrated shuttle table system allows one table to be loaded while the machine is cutting on the other table. Table change time is 35 s.
