Subcon Laser Cutting celebrates 25th anniversary with $1.6M investment

Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England - Subcon Laser Cutting, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, is investing $1.6 million (£1 million) in the latest laser cutting equipment.

Nuneaton's Member of Parliament, Marcus Jones, was invited along to the company's 25th anniversary event, where he helped present a special plaque to mark the major investment. Nuneaton and Bedworth's mayor, councilor Brian Hawkes, also raised a toast to celebrate, and representatives from firms that the company works with, including Honda, Jaguar, and MIRA, were present.

Realizing that the Midlands region of England was a hub for engineering, the company's managing directors, Bill and Christine Brown, launched the company there in 1989, according to Tom Mongan, general manager. Several years later, the business expanded and the company moved to its current location on Bermuda Road.

The $1.6 million investment includes a new, fiber laser-based cutting system, which is fast and more eco-friendly, and has created 10 new jobs for the company, Mongan says.
