Insignia produces 2M signs in a year with laser die-cutting system

Minneapolis, MN - Insignia Systems, a developer and marketer of in-store advertising products and services for retailers and consumer goods manufacturers, says it has produced its two millionth sign on a laser die-cutting finishing system that it purchased and installed in late 2011.

Earlier this year the company relaunched its line of POPSign signage products, with new and improved capabilities thanks to the customized laser die-cutting machine (vendor unidentified), which was trialed in mid-2011 and put into operation at the end of the year. The system was said to be "unique to our industry and [enables] a competitive advantage," according to the company. (SEC filings indicate the company had planned to spend roughly $1M for the laser die cutter and related equipment; in its full-year 2011 filing, the company's reported property/equipment spending was roughly $2.2M, which "consisted primarily" of the laser die cutter.)

A year into operation, the laser die-cutting system applied to its POPSign line has "been a strong part of the sales recovery we are seeing in the back-half of 2012," claims Insignia president/CEO Glen Dall. "The uniquely-shaped signs produced by our laser die-cutting finishing system offer many creative variants to inspire shoppers and deliver value."
