LPKF to move laser welding application center, double size of laser welding team

Tualatin, Ore. – LPKF  has reported that since the popularity of laser plastic welding continues to grow, the capabilities of its Laser Welding Application Center need to grow as well, according to Jim Greene, VP, sales and marketing, of LPKF Laser & Electronics North America.

In a recent letter to customers, Greene said that LPKF's current welding application center based in Detroit, Mich., will be moving to LPKF's North American headquarters near Portland, Ore., to better serve its growing customer base in North America. The move will take place during the month of June, and the transition will be complete following the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Along with the relocation of its technical staff from Detroit to the Portland headquarters, the expansion of the laser welding application center also includes additional personnel for both the technical, field service, and sales departments dedicated to the welding group. By effectively doubling the size of the laser welding team, the increased depth of personnel will benefit its customers. An increased spare parts inventory and more efficient interaction with the back office logistical staff are expected as well.
