Midaz Lasers improves DPSS laser amplifier technology with very high gain

London, U.K. – Midaz Lasers has successfully demonstrated laser amplifier modules for amplification of CW and pulsed seed lasers with extremely high gain at 1064 nm. Midaz claims that its technology is generic and that it could be used to amplify a variety of laser platforms (e.g. bulk or fiber).

DPSS high gain laser amplifier

Midaz amplifiers are capable of amplifying linearly polarized input seeds to over 40 W and maintain beam quality of the input even at high pump powers. Based on patented design, the amplifier technology enables compact packaging, which only requires air cooling. The company also expects to deliver smaller, water-cooled units.

Product integration into laser systems will ultimately enable laser OEMs and systems integrators to use these modular units without need for complex additional equipment.
