ACI Laser offers "entry-level" laser labelling device

ACI Laser, Thuringia, Germany, is offering a diode-pumped, solid-state laser as an 'entry-level' laser labelling device. The company said that the low investment costs will make the laser tool even more attractive for all kinds of marking and labelling tasks.

The clear, individual labelling of products is becoming more and more important in many industries. Laser labelling systems are increasingly replacing such traditional labelling techniques such as printing or stamping. Laser material marking leaves lasting marks on nearly all materials, such as metals, ceramics or plastics.

With the DPLSmart Marker, the individual, high contrast labelling of workpieces of all conceivable shapes, even in smaller production runs, is no longer a problem from the point of view of business efficiency, said ACI Laser. Priced at EUR 22,700 (plus VAT), the basic DPLSmart Marker model brings marking innovative technology within the reach of small companies, said ACI Laser.

Additional features of the DPLSmart Marker that make laser marking more attractive are as follows:

* Low procurement costs.
* Ease of operation.
* Low operating costs (the laser's power requirement is less than 100W).
* Graphically-oriented labelling software.

The extremely compact, all-in-one structure of ACI equipment means that everything that is required to operate the laser components is integrated in a single housing. Yhe self-contained, easily integrated module can be operated from any PC through a USB interface.

The flexible and user-friendly marking software controls the entire laser system. This simple 'plug and play' solution ensures a maximum of user-friendliness, said ACI Laser. In combination with the WorkstationBASIC or any of various protective housings a separate manual workplace in accordance with Laser protection class 1 can be speedily set up. Special software features, such as the ability to apply a barcode or data matrix code, a rotary module integrated in the workstation, or the capacity to vary the size of the labelling fields, are available to supplement the system.
