ADC speeds manufacturing with 8th laser

March 20--American Dryer Corp. (ADC) has bought a TRUMPF TruLaser 3030, its eighth and most powerful laser machine to date, to increase its productivity.

The newest machine can cut steel 5 x 10 ft and sheets up to 1 inch thick.

Reportedly, ADC converted to laser cutting in 1994 and says that lasers allow immediate job changes and precise cutting with minimum waste, streamlining the manufacturing process.

Joe Bazzinotti, ADC vice president of manufacturing, says this latest machine will move the company a step closer to its lean manufacturing goals.
